This past weekend, Orthology’s own Luke Bongiorno competed in and finished the world famous TCS New York City Marathon. An avid runner who’s previously completed this race four times, Luke ran this year in support of Back On My Feet, a charity organization that utilizes running as a means to help those experiencing homelessness change the way they see themselves.

With over 50,000 runners coming from around the world to race through NYC’s five boroughs, Luke was in great company, running alongside Terence Gerchberg, Back On My Feet’s Executive Director, and some of his own patients who are also serious athletes.

As co-founder of NYSportsMed, now a part of the Orthology family, and a treating physical therapist at the Columbus Circle location, Luke is an active member of the NYC running community and regularly treats patients who are recovering from running-related injuries. The Columbus Circle clinic features state-of-the-art technology such as Alter G Anti-Gravity Treadmill as well as the OptoGait Advanced Gait Analysis, and the Runner’s Report Card, a proprietary full-body running analysis that utilizes ViPerform’s wireless sensor technology that tracks and measures how runners move in real-time.

Located at 1841 Broadway with an unobstructed view of Central Park where runners enter into the 26th and final mile of the race, our Columbus Circle location hosted a marathon day center where finishers received post-race treatment, refueled, and celebrated their achievement with their physical therapists, chiropractors, family and friends.

This concludes another great running season at Orthology and we want to congratulate all of our Orthology athletes who have competed in races. We can’t wait for next year!
