Josh Speckman received his doctorate in physical therapy from Columbia University in the City of New York. He has special interests in physical therapy for the spine and the biomechanics of the lower extremity (hip, knee, ankle & foot). Josh strives to discover the original cause of each patient’s problem, so as to devise individually tailored treatments leading to true and lasting solutions. Josh brings the latest scientific research, hands on techniques, and collaboration with other health care practitioners to the care of each patient he meets.
Josh came to physical therapy following a writing career, which took he and his wife abroad for many years. Before that, he studied biology at Ohio University. If not reading, Josh, who is originally from Bemidji, MN, spends his free time outdoors with his family, canoeing, hiking, backpacking and playing tennis. Early in life, Josh struggled with orthopedic problems of his own, and brings a patient’s perspective to the treatment of every patient in his care. Josh believes that movement is life and is committed to helping patients retain and regain the ability to do the things they love.
