Matt Murphy brings real dedication to his work at Orthology. More importantly, he brings it every day. It’s probably because he has seen genuine spirit and tenacity up close, through his work at the Courage Center. There he witnessed patients triumph against overwhelming odds–he witnessed strength in the face of pain.
The Center, officially known as the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute in Minnesota, provides a broad range of rehabilitation services for people with short and long-term conditions, as well as profound injuries and disabilities.
Matt practiced at the Center after graduation for over three tears, where he treated stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and amputee patients, along with those afflicted with neurological diseases. The intimate knowledge gained in that treatment setting gave him a great foundation, and he has brought that experience, empathy and engagement to his current passion–finding the root cause of musculoskeletal injuries. It also made him aware of the large influence therapists have on the central nervous system, which has helped him immeasurably at Orthology.
Matt graduated from Saint Catherine University in 2011, with an Associate of Applied Science degree, and is a board certified PTA.
When outside the clinic he enjoys investing, woodworking and home improvements–all the while entertaining his golden retriever, Lenny.
