Passionate about understanding the human body and why people are having pain, Dr. Matthew Vraa is committed to aiding every patient on their individual healthcare journey. His mission is to figure out “the missing component”–why they are still having their pain, and the root cause of an injury. With his extensive experience and exceptional educational background, he knows that getting to that root cause will help people get their lives back and enjoy long term health.
Matthew believes that a key aspect of his treatment is his holistic view of a patient’s body systems. And given his wide-ranging knowledge and clinical experience, his belief is borne out by a record of positive outcomes. A runner himself, dedicated to both strength training and yoga, he counsels his patients to “keep moving,” a kind of simple mantra he seems to have pursued himself both professionally and academically.
Matthew is the Musculoskeletal Coordinator at Concordia University-St. Paul, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. He has worked alongside physicians focusing on medically complex chronic musculoskeletal pain to help facilitate diagnostics and expedite optimum outcomes through coordination of care. He uses a collective of manual therapy techniques in his treatment approach.
After earning his Bachelors of Science degree, Matthew furthered his education with both a Masters of Business Administration and Masters of Physical Therapy from Carroll College. He went on to a Fellowship in Manual Therapy at Regis University, with a Transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Argosy University, and is now PhD in Physical Therapy (In Process) from Regis.
