Christopher Allison is responsible for the operational structure of Orthology in NY where he successfully combines his scientific aptitude and fervent interest in medicine, passion for athletics and high level of compassion for patients with exceptional leadership and project management skills. This effective synergy was the driving force behind the selection of Chris as an Orthology leader.
Chris is enthusiastic about all that he does, whether on a professional or personal level, and is dedicated to the continued success of Orthology as the go-to “one-stop shop” for active individuals seeking health and wellness services. Professionally, Chris continually pursues opportunities that improve his ability to better deliver care within the medical community, while his personal commitment to education supports his interest in the field of medicine and his desire to increase his knowledge base. He has exceptional perseverance and is adept at working under a multitude of conditions while always maintaining a positive attitude, traits that have served him well throughout his career.
Chris’s journey to become a leader at one of the leading orthopedic practices in the metropolitan New York area has followed an interesting path marked by notable accomplishments along the way. After graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Computer Engineering from a top engineering university in North Carolina, Chris began his professional career at the IBM Corporation. Over the course of ten years with IBM, he progressed from a consultant in the e-commerce division, where his main focus was on providing advanced network support to Fortune 500 companies, to the management division of the company where he was involved in global leadership, overseeing multi-million dollar projects that enabled consulting businesses and service providers at IBM to transform their operations and deliver IT on demand.
During his successful career at IBM, Chris obtained National Project Management Certification (PMP) and also began to develop a greater interest in becoming a member of the medical community. To engage this budding interest, he volunteered at the University of North Carolina Medical Center, helping out in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Pediatric Acute Care Unit and Jaycee Burn Center. This experience subsequently caused him to switch gears, pursue his lifelong interests and obtain an advanced degree in the field of medicine.
Chris went on to attend the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating with a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies. During his intensive study, he received training at New York Methodist Hospital, Weill Medical College of Cornell University, Lenox Hill Hospital and North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. Throughout his clinical rotations, Chris continually received outstanding performance evaluations.
Following completion of his degree, Chris worked at Maimonides Medical Center as an Orthopaedic Surgery Physician Assistant. He then transferred to New York University’s Institute of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Bellevue Medical Center as a Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery Physician Assistant. After just one year, he was promoted to Chief Physician Assistant, a position he successfully held for two years. While managing this strenuous responsibility, he also worked part time at NYSportsMed, becoming one of the leading medical providers within the company. Chris brings a unique set of leadership skills to the table as a former IBM leader handling multimillion dollar accounts, and having recently served as a top Physician Assistant at multiple hospitals after graduating with a Masters from NYIT College of Medicine.
When not working, Chris enjoys an active lifestyle. He has long had an interest in athletics, being an active member of his school’s football and track teams throughout high school and part of college. Chris currently keeps active by strength training, rollerblading along the West Side Highway, biking through Central Park and participating in a variety of sports. He also enjoys traveling and exploring different aspects of the world, as well as relaxing on the beach when time allows. Chris is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Institute of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.
